Mark Hurley, Chairman
Mark Hurley is a serial entrepreneur with a wealth of experience of working with boards in both early and later stage businesses to build successful and profitable companies. Mark was a founder and director of a large UK-based telecoms company which was acquired by the French utilities company, Compagnie Générale des Eaux. He currently is a non-exec director of five companies and chairs three venture capital backed technology businesses. He has led a number of Series A and Series B fund-raising exercises and has experience of taking profitable exits.
Mark holds a masters degree and is a chartered director.
Gavin Johns, Founder & CEO
Since co-founding Epitiro in 2000 with Jon Curley, Gavin Johns has taken the company from start-up to a global business with offices in the UK, North America, New Zealand, Singapore and Ireland. His many years experience in the telecoms and internet industries has helped him build the business into a recognised leader with an international blue-chip client-base. Gavin, a seasoned early-stage investor in tech start-ups, holds an Honours degree in Computer Science from Cardiff University and a triple-accredited Masters degree in Business Administration.
Jon Curley, Founder & CTO
Jon's primary role at Epitiro is to continually evaluate emerging IP & RF technologies and identify new vertical markets for Epitiro's solutions – something he has done since the tech boom years of the 90’s. Jon's career began in the mid '90s when he designed and developed a software platform for both the US and UK Equity and Bond markets. Following a successful sale of the business, Jon co-founded Epitiro with close friend and Group CEO Gavin Johns in February, 2000. Jon has also made a number of successful early-stage investments in tech start-ups and holds an Honours degree in Computing Mathematics from Cardiff University.
David Staziker, Strategic Investment Manager, FW Capital
David Staziker is the Strategic Investment Manager at FW Capital, an investor in Epitiro since 2007. Staziker is a qualified as an ACA with Coopers & Lybrand in Cardiff and was previously corporate finance manager with Gambit Corporate Finance. David has managed deals with Bluestone, Zoobiotic, Epitiro, Innovis and Unite Technologies and sits on all these Boards.
Phil Hopper, Global Sales Director
Phil Joined Epitiro in 2010, leaving his position as Sales Director for Northern Europe of Andrew Corporation, a CommScope company. In his previous role, Phil was responsible for the sales operations and business development for the full range of Andrew products and solutions throughout UK, Ireland, Scandinavia & Baltics. Phil was also in charge of 3 Global account teams supporting Vodafone, NEC & Harris Stratex and the Test and measurement sales team for EMEA. Prior to Andrew corporation, Phil held various Senior Sales Management roles within Tellabs overseeing the EMEA region. Phil’s key attribute is developing and motivating successful sales teams.
Iain J.D. Wood, Executive VP - Marketing & Product Strategy
As VP of Marketing, Iain Wood is responsible for introducing the company to new markets and building the brand globally, a challenge he previously met as the director of marketing at Psytechnics. Commencing his career at Mitel in Canada and relocating to the UK, he successfully launched that company's first IP-PBX in Europe and established its first indirect sales channel programme. Iain holds a degree in electronics from Sheridan Institute of Technology.
Brian Leck, Executive VP, Head of Finance
Brian Leck is responsible for the Global Financial Function of the Group. With over 25 years experience of financial accounting at a senior level, Brian has worked for a number of leading technology companies with particular focus on Technology and the Global metal trading market.
