LTE End-to-End OSS Testing

LTE, once deployed, requires new capabilities in OSS monitoring systems to accurately assess the delivered customer experience and identify and efficiently solve any customer-facing problems. Additionally OSS monitoring systems must be capable of assessing network performance for multiple, diverse QoS applications. Epitiro's ISP-I for LTE actively tests, measures and reports the delivered performance of LTE networks by providing data acquired using field test equipment and providing allow accurate comparisons between the perceived network performance and the service the user is actually experiencing.

The ISP-I platform, deployed by many of the World's leading MNOs, will take your network through a rigorous, on-going examination, of IP-Voice, Video & Data service delivery as actually experienced by your customers.

A typical ISP-I assessment project provides the following services:

  • Network Integration
  • End-to-End Reporting from the Edge to the Core Network
  • Defining Test strategy, Site planning, Definition & execution of test scenarios
  • Test deployment & automation
  • Network benchmarking

Our on-going assessment testing of your network against alternative broadband networks and service plans will allow you to bring your Service offering to market in a timely manner while ensuring consumer confidence and fending off the possibility of In-life service quality issues.

Fully-managed remote service scheduling and testing
These are the the key-phases involved in any Managed Test Services Project:

  • QoS Service Plan Definition
  • Location Definition
  • Hardware Configuration & physical roll-out of test equipment
  • Test strategy & Scenario Definition
  • Test script creation and remote deployment to Probes
  • Test Initiation
  • Report analysis

LTE Service Plan Definition
This involved defining and creating a list of QoS Service plans that need to be scenarios within the region under test

Location Definition
Once a client has agreed to proceed with n assessment project this phase involves identifying appropriate points in the network in which to position the probes. This is typically Customer Premises or in distributed retail outlets under the Operator's control.

Hardware Configuration & physical roll-out
Once appropriate sites have been identified Epitiro-supplied probes and supporting hardware (Remote Power, KVMoIP, etc..)need to be physically deployed at the identified locations. This will typically involve a call to a member of our Operations & Service Configuration Center to validate two-way IP communications between the Probes and our Operations center.

Test strategy & Call Scenario Definition
Once the probes are validated with the operations center, network technicians can proceed to define the assessment test requirements. This can include many separate test types and varying Voice, Video and Data traffic scenarios.

Test script creation and remote deployment to Probes
Once assessment schedules and have been agreed it's the role of our operations team to build and deploy the requirements. Tests can range from a single test on a 15-minute cycle to a host of tests include VoIP, Video, Peer-to-Peer and IP Data on a 24x7x365 rotational cycle. Once the schedules have been created they are remotely transferred to the individual probes in the wireless network as appropriate.

Test Initiation
Once the test schedules have been remotely deployed the tests can be started on-demand either with a call to Operations or using automated procedures agreed with the client.

Report analysis
Once the test schedules are underway the resulting information is available immediately, in real-time, anywhere in the world using our ISP-I real-time reporting interface.
